Magnificent weather in September allowed each plot to be picked at the optimum time. The grapes were very concentrated in sugar and phenolic compounds and produced opulent, exuberant wines.
On the nose, the wine develops aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants with smoky notes. The palate is rich, full and generous. The finish is long and harmonious. Ageing potential : up to 2025

A pair of dueling ’90 Right Bankers were next, beginning with the 1990 Angelus. This was reportedly Hubert’s favorite vintage of all-time. It was deep, big and long with black fruits, bread and great dryness. It was quite thick and long, toeing the line between New and Old Worlds quite deftly. It didn’t please everyone in the crowd as ‘too aggressive’ and ‘anchovy’ came out, but I liked and respected the wine (95).

Intense, complex, rich and leathery nose with black currants, cigarbox and licorice touch of mint. Medium-bodied, vivid acidity subtle tannins, concentrated and elegant palate that closes in the mid palate. A great potential but will reach its ideal drinkability that needs to be aged for at least ten to fifteen years.

A gorgeous wine with intense purple red colour and violet hue. Very compact nost with powerful and opulent character displaying a rather closed aromatic structure. With some oxygen the wine starts slowly to open up and shows partially ist great potential. Patience is asked, the potential for further evolution clearly stated. A wine like an iron fist in a velvet glove.
