Vintage 2008

2008 -The Champagne vintage set to make history!

A first taste of leading winemakers’ 2008 champagnes reveals a miraculous vintage, bubbling with potential, which – whisper it – might just prove the greatest in living memory.

Written Notes

A dedicated homage to Madame de Pompadour (and drawing on the house's top Grand Cru vineyards in Avize, Cramant, and Aÿ), this 2008 vintage captures the iconic tension, razor-sharp precision, and incredible longevity of one of the century's finest harvests.

The nose is vibrant, aristocratic, and intensely mineral, opening with white flowers, Meyer lemon zest, and crunchy green apple, interwoven with delicate autolytic notes of toasted brioche, raw almond, white truffle, and a striking chalk-dust minerality. On the palate, the entry is crystalline and linear, featuring a micro-fine, persistent mousse. A concentrated core of citrus oil and white stone fruit expands gracefully across the mid-palate, held firmly in alignment by a searing, mouthwatering spine of 2008 natural acidity. It closes on an extraordinarily long, bone-dry, and salivary saline finish that leaves a lasting impression of lime pith and wet limestone.
