Vintage 2017

A very weak year for most Pinot Noir. First, severe April frosts caused significant crop loss. After a hot summer, unexpected rain in July and August caused rot in the vineyards. Written Notes

A dedicated homage to Madame de Pompadour (and drawing on the house's top Grand Cru vineyards in Avize, Cramant, and Aÿ), this 2008 vintage captures the iconic tension, razor-sharp precision, and incredible longevity of one of the century's finest harvests.

The nose is vibrant, aristocratic, and intensely mineral, opening with white flowers, Meyer lemon zest, and crunchy green apple, interwoven with delicate autolytic notes of toasted brioche, raw almond, white truffle, and a striking chalk-dust minerality. On the palate, the entry is crystalline and linear, featuring a micro-fine, persistent mousse. A concentrated core of citrus oil and white stone fruit expands gracefully across the mid-palate, held firmly in alignment by a searing, mouthwatering spine of 2008 natural acidity. It closes on an extraordinarily long, bone-dry, and salivary saline finish that leaves a lasting impression of lime pith and wet limestone.

An remarkably refined single-vineyard bottling that captures the true precision and brilliance of the 2008 vintage. The bouquet presents complex layers of citrus blossom, white peach, roasted almond, warm pastry crust, and subtle limestone minerality. On the palate, it feels weightless yet deeply concentrated, featuring a delicate, velvety mousse and a vibrant, linear acid backbone. The finish is remarkably clean, long, and harmonious
