A cool, wet spring was followed by a very dry summer that failed to trigger noble rot, and only three barrels' worth of wine were picked in September. Rain finally arrived in early October, and the harvest started up again on the 12th, but sugar levels were unsatisfactory and the 13 days of picking the ensued never attained the desired concentration.
