Ruby. Red berries, anise, blueberries, cassis, some spices below, ever so slight herbal touch far back, tight nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruity, anise, spices, cassis and red fruits, spices, leaner body, structured behind, long. Drink from 2025 and twenty years or so thereafter. 92

Dark purple red with violet hue and black core. A wine with great precision, elegant but persistent, complex fruit, fine mild spices, discreet hints of toasted oak in the background. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, well balanced character and excellent depth. A great success in 2015.

Deep colour. Intense dark cherry, cassis aromas with provinces but balanced mocha liquorice oak. Concentrated Sweet liquorice dark cherry cassis fruit, fine chalky tannin and beautiful inky length. Lovely buoyant style with velvety textures and attractive volume. Plush yet refined wine. 97 points.

Ducru Beaucaillou Saint Julien - 95% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Merlot – 13.42% Alcohol Very deep colour, fine nose, tobacco, cedar, good texture here, lovely palate open and facile very ripe tannins this will be a beauty, very fine complex very elegant. Very long. This is an exceptional Ducru, one which the chateau rates alongside the finest ever produced. 95-98/100 2026-2040
