The chateau makes three different wines. The so-called grand vin, that is Château Latour itself, a second wine called Les Forts de Latour and a third wine simply called Pauillac. This year, inevitably, suffered the consequences of the 1956 frosts and produced only a restricted volume. Moderate weather during growth with alternating periods of rain and cold, drought and heat. Fortunately it was fine for the harvest.
