The Story

Classed as a Premier Cru in 1855, it is made from grapes selected from the finest terroirs of the property. Written Notes

The 1900 Suduiraut is the only Sauternes that I have tasted from this legendary vintage. Deep amber in colour, it has a compelling bouquet that is amazingly delineated considering its age: dried honey and Aszú like aromas at first, lanolin and even mocha. Evidently this was a rich, precocious season. The palate is vivacious from the start with gorgeous mandarin and marmalade notes, quite viscous even after all these years although it is just bereft of some harmony on the finish. Otherwise, this is a sterling performance.
