The Story

Classed as a Premier Cru in 1855, it is made from grapes selected from the finest terroirs of the property. This wine is hand crafted at every stage of its elaboration and reveals remarkable finesse and complexity and a golden colour reminiscent of the sun that made it possible. With age the bright gold evolves to a dark amber colour.
With an extensive life-span, it powerfully and harmoniously combines fruit and floral aromas with roasted and...

Written Notes

The nose is a captivating symphony of honeyed apricots, candied orange peel, and hints of tropical fruits. Aromas evoke a stroll through a sun-drenched orchard. On the palate, this Sauternes wine is a perfect harmony of sweetness and complexity. Flavors of honeyed stone fruits, pineapple, and nuances of vanilla create a luscious and indulgent tasting experience. The finish is a grand finale of sweetness, leaving a lasting impression of honeyed nectar and a touch of exotic spices.

Pair this extraordinary Sauternes with foie gras, crème brûlée, Roquefort cheese, or a platter of dried fruits and nuts. It is also a splendid companion to moments of celebration and indulgence.

Medium colour. Bitter sweet almost vermouth like aromas with some lemon grapefruit notes. Sweet and unctuous with lemon glacé. Grapefruit flavours, chalky looseknit textures, some grilled nut marzipan notes. Finishes bitter sweet with al dente textures. Attractive wine. Tasted at the Union des Grand Crus at Ch Pichon Longueville Baron. 93 points

Golden yellow colour. Opulent nose with aroma reminiscent of ripe apricots and pineapple, passionfruit, candied lemon peel. On the palate opulent sweetness, elegant acidity, excellent length, a wine with great persistence.
