The Story

A perfect illustration of Maison Henriot’s mastery of the assemblage, this cuvee is composed in equal parts of pinot noir and chardonnay, conferring elegance on its complex structure. Written Notes

Together with the '55, the best Champagne that I tasted during an extremely comprehensive vertical tasting by Henriot in October 2002. This magnum contains the exact same wine as Baccarat, but because Taittinger owns Baccarat Crystal, this label was used. It took a while for the nose of this light, incredibly fat wine to blossom fully. When that happened, a fantastically beautiful, sensual symphony was played for the olfactory glands. The taste is extremely intense and vintage-typically butterscotchy and sweet, with the house's finely refreshing, citrus-clad spine as a counterbalance and interest-catcher.
