This blend of multiple vintages is Krug’s entry level Champagne, but superior to many’s luxury cuvee. It was clean, racy and full, all Krug in its personality and a great way to start any meal
Rich nose with toasted almonds, orange peel and blossom. Highly aromatic. Wow effect on the palate. Depthless complexity and finesse. So fine and yet dense. Beautiful composed with lots of dark fruit and toasted notes, yet backed up by a massive ripe acidity. 97p.
Födelsedagsfest på bryggan hemma på ön, julinatt på Ålands Hav, aperitif i en Ägget-fotölj hemma hos goda vänner, gnistrande nyårsnatt i Lofsdalen. Platserna är många där denna storhet har avnjutits i ymniga klunkar. Förmodligen den cuvée préstige som jag druckit flest gånger under året. Äldsta vinet från ‘90, yngsta från ‘06 142 viner från 11 olika årgångar. Vibrerande fräsch men också rikt chokladig komplexitet. Sanslöst elegant!
Pale lemon yellow, tiny bubbles. Layered and complex nose, slightly less powerful than I remember my last bottle. Fresh acidity, lively mousse, playful and elegant, very long finish. Feels more rounded and riper than before.
