The Story
La Romanée sits directly above Romanée-Conti on the Vosne-Romanée slope. Until 2001, the vineyard was farmed and vinified by Domaine Clair-Däu / Régis Thomas and later Domaine du Château de Vosne-Romanée (Liger-Belair), but aging and distribution were handled under contract by Bouchard Père & Fils.

Thanks to exceptional sunshine all the vintage long this year was the one of all record-breakings temperatures, earliness, and drought. Some climatic incidents had also to be deplored like frost in April, hail and roasting in summer. So that yields were historically low.
