Wine Description
The Story
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir.
Origin: Leyda Valley
Vineyard: Las Terrazas, Lot Nº35. The vineyard has an east-west orientation and a 20-degree slope.
Soil: A 2.5-metre layer of very stony alluvial soil with clay.
Winemaking: After a cold maceration to extract colour and aromas, the grapes underwent fermentation in small open vats at a controlled temperature of between 24ºC and 26ºC. To ensure gentle extraction of colour, flavour and aromas from the skins, 100% of the fermentation process was manual. 100% of the wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels from Burgundy: 20% in new barrels, 30% in second use barrels and 50% in third use barrels.
Tasting notes: Violet red with ruby tones at the rim. Aromas of wild black and red berries together with notes of vanilla and dried fruits from the barrel-ageing. This wine is fresh, concentrated and has great structure.
