The Story

Dagromis Barolo takes its name from the former La Morra estate owner Gromis family. It is an expression of two Barolo terroirs – Serralunga and La Morra. The Nebbiolo grapes from each single vineyard are fermented, macerated and aged for 12 months separately, before being blended and aged for a further 18 months in oak.

Written Notes

Gaja Barolo Dagromis 2019 is a refined and classically structured Barolo, combining precision with depth. The nose is layered and expressive, offering rose petal, sour cherry, and red plum, supported by notes of tar, licorice, dried herbs, and subtle spice.

On the palate, the wine is firm and well defined, with bright acidity and finely grained tannins providing a strong framework. Red fruit flavours are focused and transparent, unfolding gradually alongside hints of orange peel, tobacco, and mineral tones. The wine shows restraint rather than opulence, emphasizing balance and clarity.

The finish is long, savoury, and persistent, marked by floral lift and gentle tannic grip. A poised and elegant Barolo that reflects both the pedigree of Gaja and the character of the 2019 vintage, with excellent potential for further aging.
