The Story

This wine made history when it became one of the earliest single-vineyard bottlings of Nebbiolo in Piedmont with the 1967 vintage. Sourced from the GAJA winery's top growing site, San Lorenzo, located just south of the village of Barbaresco in the famed cru Secondine, the wine is made with 95% Nebbiolo grapes and 5% Barbera. Well-structured, Medium-bodied, Firm, Ripe and Elegant

Written Notes

Moderately light, hazy colour with brown tints. Complex nose shows broad range of aromas of evolved style – farmyard, ripe wild strawberries, prunes, and figs, Medium-bodied palate with vivid acidity and supple yet firm tannins form an elegant structure to the wine. Some fruit and complexity on the palate is only missing to make this a great wine. However the wine is still energetic and delightful.
