The Story

The Sorì Tildìn vineyard is named after the beloved matriarch of the GAJA family, Clotilde Rey, daughter-in-law of founder Giovanni Gaja. Known for her strong personality, the adored Clotilde was affectionately known by the nickname Tildìn (teel-DEEN), a diminutive of her Christian name.

Written Notes

Medium intense brick red colour. A complex and aromatic nose shows plethora of aromas from red fruits, cherries, pomegranate to chocolate and hazelnut, and pepper and tar. The palate is medium-intense and vibrant with dusty tannins, some dried herbs, ripe cranberries and cherries. The aftertaste is lingering long with a gentle mineral bite in the end. A subtle wine that reaches its optimum in few years but will keep a decade or even two still. If drank now, decant for 2 hours in advance and serve at 18°C with braised leg of lamb and cep risotto. JL 94p (Nov 2022)

The nose has it all here with fresh cranberry character, brambleberries and lavender intermingled with darker, more complex notes of cedar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Full body, so much vibrant acidity, tangy fruit, expansive yet tight tannins and a long, savory finish. Profound minerality. Delicious now but better in 2020.
