Written Notes

The wine presents with a deep garnet color, slightly faded at the edges, indicating its age.

Aromas of dried red fruits, particularly cherries and currants, mingle with subtle hints of leather, tobacco, and cedar. There's a delicate floral note reminiscent of dried violets, adding a touch of elegance.

Medium-bodied with a softened structure, the palate offers flavors of dried berries and a hint of plum, accompanied by earthy undertones and a faint suggestion of spice. The tannins are gentle, contributing to a smooth mouthfeel.

The finish is moderate, with lingering notes of dried fruit and a subtle herbal character, ending on a graceful note.

Château Margaux 1926 is a superb, very powerful, rich wine, which must surely have been hard and austere for many years. But today, a little like the 1928, it is very pleasant and has kept an amazing freshness. It is a marvellous wine to drink, when we are lucky enough to open a good bottle or a well-cellared magnum.
