Written Notes

This wine was quite a surprise as this quite difficult vintage presented itself in a positive manner. It showed a quite evolved character with hints of oxidation but was stylistically a true Château Margaux. Dark garnet red colour with brick red hue. The nose was quite elegant with hints of balmy spices and prunes. The hints of oxidation were not yet masking a certain fruit. On the palate the 1960 was well structured with rather soft tannins, good length, freshness and a good aromatic expression. A wine much better than expected for the vintage.

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is light. On the nose it is modest. On the palate it is layered and has leather, mineral and blackberry flavours. This wine is fine.
