Vintage 2025

The Bordeaux 2025 vintage is generating massive excitement across the wine world, following its official reveal at the April 2026 En Primeur tastings. Critics and merchants widely praise it as a highly successful, contemporary vintage shaped by an unusual but highly effective growing season.

The year began with a cool, rain-heavy spring, but completely pivoted into a hot, exceptionally dry summer. The ultimate saving grace arrived during Au...

Written Notes

Mouton Rothschild: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon + 2% Merlot. 13.1% alcohol. One of the best visits I experienced during primeur tastings in April 2026. Thanks, Jean-Emmanuel Danjoy! Potent and distinguished. It has a refined nose, offering plenty of blackcurrants and violets, spiced with notes of tobacco and leather. Exuberant, rich, and creamy on the palate with great structure, complexity, depth, and length. Vibrant, sophisticated, and with excellent mid-palate. This is definitely one of my top picks from the vintage. A future classic, for sure! 99-100p.

  • 100p

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Fine precious wood spice, nuances of cassis and liquorice, delicate hints of nougat and orange zest, seductive bouquet. Complex, tightly meshed, fresh dark berry fruit, fine, silky, tannins, delicate blueberries, lively structure, mineral-salty finish, elegant and precise, shows length and assured ageing potential. (98% Cabernet Sauvignon)

  • 100p

A very classic style with 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and only 2% of Merlot. Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Intense nose with ripe fruit, blackcurrants, blackberries and ripe plums, fine hints of graphite and elegant toasting, refined floral hints, peonies in the background. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, fine acidity, elegant and persistent fruit, dark berries and plums, discreet hints of chocolate and toasting in the background, a whiff of vanilla and mild spices. Excellent depth and length.
