The Story

In 1934 was the introduction of the first vintage of Cuvée Duvault-Blochet, a Vosne-Romanée premier cru produced from the fruit of the grand cru vineyards’ younger vines. Written Notes

Medium red. Sappy aromas of redcurrant, blackberry, plum, spices and chocolate. Juicy, minerally and fresh, with good body and lovely cut. Sweet oak adds complexity. Finishes fresh and precise, with firm tannins.

Well, this completely passes my sentiments when I first tasted this after bottling. It has a thrilling bouquet with spellbinding definition that actually reminded me of Henri Jayer’s Echezeaux 2000. This is just pure, unfettered Pinot. The palate is beautifully balanced with breathtaking definition, balancing on a high wire with such effortlessness, with mineral-rich bright red fruits infused with a sorbet-like freshness on the long finish. Sensational.
