The Story

At the end of the 17th Century, Dom Pierre Pérignon stated his ambition to create ‘the best wine in the world’.  On 29 September 1694, Dom Pierre Pérignon wrote that his mission was to create “the best wine in the world.” He dedicated himself to improving viticulture techniques, perfecting the art blending grapes from different crus, and introduced the gentle and fractional pressing to obtain white wine from black grapes.Ever since, the House...

Wine Information

The 1934 vintage was a pleasant exception in the quality of Champagne vintages in the 1930s. A healthy and large (10 500 kg/ha) crop was harvested after a fairly unproblematic growing season. Moët & Chandon produced only 1200 cases of this third official vintage of Dom Pérignon. (50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir blend). This wine really astonished us with its vibrancy and elegance.

Written Notes

"Since this is really an ordinary Moët in a " "Dom P bottle" ", one should keep one's eyes skinned for the 37 Moët. Nutty and biscuit-scented beyond the usual. At the same time an enchanting fruit base replete with orange."

Clear golden colour with some refined bubbles left. The gracefully developed and rich nose highlights the wine’s complexity - oxidative mushroomy aromas turn into powerful roasted coffee with hints of tiramisu. Dry and crisp on the palate with a delicate mousse. Harmonious finish with smokiness and hints of bitter almonds and oxidative hints. Enjoy now in perfect company. No further ageing recommended.
