The Story

In 2014, Dom Perignon announced that it would be changing the name of its late-release Oenothèque series into a “P2” and “P3” offerings, referring to the second and third “plenitudes” of development in the evolution of a Champagne.

P3 offerings are fully matured, recently disgorged Champagnes that have been stored in the cellars where they were originally made.

The maturation of Dom Pérignon occurs not in a simple linear trajectory, but ...

For a long time little neutral and weak in scent. Extremely dense and focused in the mouth. Long and intense. Since about a year ago, magical with an incredible floral uplifting soaring elegance. Nice bright fruit and heavenly.’ RJ 97(97)

Good looking magnum size bottle, in an perfect condition and has by the neck level. Colour is gold, and looking healthy, bright and deep. On the nose it is wide, mature, opulent and seductive. The taste is harmonious, elegant, vivid, with silky tannins, medium-bodied, with good texture, balanced structure and mature. The finish is medium long, extensive and flavorful. This wine is sophisticated, wonderful and excellent. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years and decant at least 5min before tasting. Good value for money.

Another stunning Champagne, the 1975 Dom Pérignon Œnothèque (Disgorged 2007) remains one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted from Dom Pérignon. This bottle is truly spectacular from the very first taste. With its expansive, soaring aromatics and bright, finely sculpted fruit, the 1975 simply has it all. Even after several hours of air, the 1975 remains breathtakingly vivid. The 1975 Œnothèque embodies the classic style of late-release Dom Pérignon in its penetrating reductive notes.
